Poultry DNA Sexing helps determine whether a bird is male or female using DNA-based laboratory testing.
This test is designed for poultry breeders, hatcheries, farms, and bird owners who need accurate sex identification at any age. It is especially useful for chicks and juvenile birds where visual sexing is unreliable, delayed, or difficult.

After purchasing the test, customers must enter their sample information through the Customer Portal, create a batch, generate a Batch Slip, label each sample, and mail the samples to the laboratory. Once testing is complete, results will be available through the customer dashboard.
Sample Type
A dried blood sample collected on the tip of a clean coffee filter or on a small piece of plain printer paper is recommended.
Properly dried hatched eggshell membrane samples may also be accepted when collected according to our Sample Collection guidelines.
Please ensure all samples are completely dry before packaging to help preserve DNA quality during shipping.

Turnaround Time
Testing begins after your samples are received and logged by the laboratory.
Customers will receive updates through the Customer Portal and/or by email when the samples are received and when the results are ready.
