Recessive White Gene Test ©

$15.00

Genetic test for the Recessive White trait in chickens. Helps identify whether a bird is clear, a carrier, or homozygous recessive for the allele associated with recessive white feathering.

Description

The Recessive White Gene Test helps breeders identify whether a chicken carries the recessive white allele associated with white feathering.

This test is useful for breeders who want to confirm carrier status, better understand visually white birds, or make more informed breeding decisions. Because recessive white can mask other color and pattern genetics, DNA testing can help clarify whether the trait is present even when it is not visually obvious.

Possible result types may include:

c/c – Homozygous Recessive White
C/c – Carrier of Recessive White
C/C – Not Recessive White

This test can help confirm:

Presence or absence of the recessive white allele
Carrier status
Whether a visually white bird is genetically recessive white
Breeding decisions related to recessive white traits

This test does not confirm:

Dominant white
Other white or dilution genes
Hidden color or pattern genetics beneath white feathering
Other unrelated feather color modifiers
